- Mechanical engineering is the oldest specialization of engineering field. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Lateral Entry) is the undergraduate course which provides direct entry to the second year.
- The duration of this course is 3 years. It will consist of 6 semesters with each semester lasting for a period of 6 months. The fee of the course ranges between 2.5 to 4 lac.
- Mechanical engineering needs knowledge in core areas of dynamics, materials science, mechanics, structural analysis and electricity.
- The course has been designed to train the students in the basics of mechanical engineering.
- Mechanical engineers manufacture and design internal combustion engines, electric generators, machinery for vehicles, power using machines like refrigeration and air-conditioning systems..
