M.E. - Mechanical Engineering Course Detail
M.E. - Mechanical Engineering is known as Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, which is a postgraduate degree program. Mechanical engineering is all about the principle of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. This course includes the subjects of Refrigeration & Air conditioning, Mechanical Vibration, Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Instrumentation & Automatic Control, Optimization Techniques and Mechanical Design Analysis etc. Through this course, students can enhance their mechanical engineering skills, technical drawing and computer skills, and the ability to conceptualize structures.
Furthermore, students who hold B.E or B. Tech. degree can apply for this Master degree program. After completion of this course, they can find many job profiles such as Project Manager, Mechanical & Agriculture Engineer, Technician, Manufacturing Manager, and Section Header etc.
M.E. - Mechanical Engineering Job Perspectives
Mechanical Engineering offers a wide choice of options extending across many interdisciplinary and interdependent specialities. Though Mechanical Engineers work mainly in manufacturing firms they can find work easily in administrative and managerial positions in government departments or public and private sector industries or do research as well as teaching in research and teaching institutes. They could also opt for technical work. They could work in many industries including private or public sector industries of various types and their work varies by industry and function. Candidates with post graduate degree or an additional management degree could find work in administrative and managerial positions. Several government departments including Posts and Telegraphs, Defence, PWD, and CPWD employ mechanical engineers as well as the railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery. In agricultural sector, mechanical engineers play a vital role by establishing service centres for maintenance of tractors, oil engines, pump sets, electric motors and other agricultural equipments.
