About Arunachal University of Studies - AUS

Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is a Private State University established by Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) Act, 2012 (Act No. 9 of 2012). The act was legislated in the eighth session of the fifth Legislative Assembly which received the assent of the Honourable Governor on 26th May, 2012 and published in Extra Ordinary Official Gazette on 30th May, 2012. AUS comes under section 2(f) of UGC Act and it is empowered to award degrees as specified in section 22 of UGC Act of 1956. In addition the University is also empowered to award diplomas, charters, certificates, Pre-University certificates and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the University Act. Arunachal University of Studies is the first and only University of the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. AUS is also the first University of the country to be lit by the sunrise every dawn. It is approved by Bar Council of India and rehabilitation council of India. It is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi. The University has a large campus of 30 acres which shall be stretched to 100 acres.
