About Theni Medical College 

The foundation for Government Theni Medical College was laid on 16th August 2002 by the Chief Minister Dr. J. Jayalalitha. The first hospital and college premises were inaugurated on 8th December 2004 by the Chief Minister Dr. J. Jayalalitha.

Our college premises includes Faculty block, 600 bedded hospital, Casualty block, Administrative block, Examination hall, Central library, Lecture Hall (3x120, 1x150 and 1x250), Blood Bank, Mortuary, Auditorium, Nursing school, Quarters for Dean, RMO, ARMO, Professors, Asst. Professors, Residents, Nurses and staffs, Separate hostels for Boys, girls and CRRI, Gymnasium, Post office, Cafeteria, Bank and Gas plant.
 
Medical college was started in the year 2006 with 100 seats for MBBS approved by Medical Council of India and it continues by admitting 100 students every year. The college is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University. DMLT, Nursing and 8 other Para Medical Courses are also being condcuted by this institution.
 
The college faculties have published many research papers in national and international journals and organized conferences, workshops, Training programes, seminars and CMEs.
