About Lord Shiva College of Pharmacy Sirsa
Established in 1983, Lord Shiva College of Pharmacy, Sirsa is a pioneering and leading institute in Northern India and offers D. Pharm., B. Pharm., M. Pharm., and PhD programmes. The College is established under the aegis of Lord Shiva Charitable Trust, Sirsa. The College is situated in the heart of Sirsa City, on the banks of Bhambur Canal. The Campus has been beautifully landscaped with extensive greenery & plantation including variety of medicinal plants and trees in a pollution free environment. The Lord Shiva College of Pharmacy is fully dedicated to profession of Pharmacy and, hence to the service of mankind.
The College offers following technical courses to the students:-
- 2 years D. Pharmacy Course (Since 1983-1984)
- 4 years B. Pharmacy Course (Since Session 2001-2002)
- 2 years M. Pharmacy-Pharmaceutics (Since Session 2007-2008).
- 2 years M. Pharmacy-Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Since Session 2008-2009).
- 3 years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) (Since Session 2000-01)
The College is duly approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Govt. of Haryana and is affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (Haryana) as well a Haryana state Board of Technical Education, Panchkula (Haryana).
The College has been granted PCI approval for all its current batches. The credit for this achievement goes to the dedicated faculty, hardworking students, and adequate support from non-teaching staff and judicious utilization of basic infrastructural facilities in the college. The college has annual intake of 60 students in D. Pharm. & B. Pharm. courses, 120 in D.M.L.T. Course & 12 each in M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
The dedicated teaching staff imparts quality education to achieve academic excellence. Faculty members are well qualified, with adequate teaching experience. The institute has on its panel, a galaxy of reputed academicians and professionals who visit the campus regularly to deliver lectures, share their experiences and deliberations upon latest developments in pharmaceutical field, which results in fruitful interactions. A number of seminars, workshops, and symposia are organized from time to time in the College. The staff members are regularly encouraged to attend training prorammes, refresher courses, profession associated scientific conventions and seminars to keep them updated of the latest developments in pharmacy profession. Scientific papers are published in reputed journals periodically and are presented at National & International conferences by staff members. The college also sponsors from time to time its teaching staff for higher studies through QIP scheme of AICTE.
The college has adequate infrastructure as per A.I.C.T.E. and P.C.I. norms. Various laboratories in the college are well equipped with equipments and instruments of the state of the art technology level, required to build the best practical hand with the skills and knowledge required for placement in the Pharmaceutical industry. Our teachers are committed to develop practical skills and knowledge by personal attention and care to each and every budding pharmacist.
L.S.C.P. has research facilities in areas of Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical quality assurance and Pharmaceutical biotechnology. Besides the college has other facility such as sophisticated instrument Lab., Microbiology Lab. having aseptic room and a computer Lab. with internet facilities where the students gain practical exposure and a realistic approach to become a full flagged pharmacist & become acquainted with latest developments in Pharmaceutical profession. Also, the college owns a Medicinal Plants Garden with a diverse variety of medicinal plants flourishing in it. The College has an inbuilt Animal house with standards as per guidelines of Committee for the purpose of Control of Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA) & which works in accordance with Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC). The College also has a N.S.S. Unit of 100 students to carry out various activities time to time. It is an important platform for students in understanding themselves in relation to their community and to develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
The college library has wide range of books, periodicals, national and international journals, reference books and educational software & news papers to fulfill the academic needs of the students. For poor students library also provides BOOK-BANK facility. The institute emphasizes on practical and industrial training and organizes academic tours for students of their respective disciplines in order to enhance their learning through practical experience and motivation by witnessing production of Pharmaceuticals.
Medical facilities are available for students and staff members in college campus. College has own transportation facility, canteen/cafeteria with adequate sitting arrangements. Girls' Hostel having accommodation for 160 students is available within the college campus. Hygienic kitchen, dinning hall & common rooms facility with cable TV, is available. Pure water with aqua guard facility is available for every one at the institute.
Scholarships to all eligible candidates belonging to SC/BC as per Haryana Government Norms are provided through guidance by college scholarship incharge. Similarly on being eligible, students belonging to minority community may also avail the scholarships as per rules.
Institute provides scholarship to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rank holders in University/State Board in each class. The Teachers are cooperative and counsel the students on various academic & Non-academic aspects. The Supporting non-teaching staff is dedicated with high sense of responsibility.
L.S.C.P. Sirsa provides optimum environment for the overall development of youngsters to be tomorrow's responsible Pharmacists and good citizens.
