Ph.D. Zoology or Doctor of Philosophy in Zoology is a Doctorate Zoology course. Zoology deals with the study of animals, their structure classifications and their existence in the environment. This field is divided into several sub-branches such as - the study of fish and their habitats - Ichthyology; study of birds - Ornithology; and study of mammals-mammalogy. The duration of the course three years and the course is taken up both after Master’s Degree (based on percentage criteria) in some cases and the other after M.Phil. - Students should have had a master’s degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% (50 % for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a university or a recognized institution of higher learning and five years of teaching/industry/administration/professional experience at senior level.
- Applicants who qualify UGC (NET/JRF)/CSIR(NET/JRF)/ICAR (JRF/SRF) examination/SLET/GATE/GPAT/ICAR hold teacher fellowship are exempted from Ph.D. entrance test.
