B.V.Sc. & A.H. or Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry is an undergraduate Veterinary Science professional course.  Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry is the application of medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic principles to various types of animals. In other words, Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) is a course that deals with curing, treating as well as studying the various diseases occurring in animals and birds, thus studying the physiology of the animals in detail. The Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree course covers the study of subjects like Veterinary Anatomy & Histology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Parasitology, etc. The degree course is awarded after successfully completing a 4½ to 5 years program of study.

• Aspiring students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks secured from a recognized board of the country.
• Veterinary Council of India conducts an All India Common Entrance Examination known as All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) in the month of May each year for filling up of 15% of the total no. of seats of each Veterinary college of the States where the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 extends.
• Some of the State Universities also conduct separate entrance examination to get admission to their B.V.Sc. & A.H degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.
