M.Arch.(Master of Architecture) Course Details
M.Arch. or Master of Architecture is a postgraduate Architecture Engineering course. Architecture is a discipline or art of designing and constructing buildings. It deals with the principles of design and construction and ornamentation of fine buildings. The duration of Architecture Masters Programs is two years which is generally divided into four semesters; these vary from institute to institute. The course can also be pursued through Correspondence or Distance Education. The Course curriculum provides specialization in one's chosen specialization. Master of Architecture is not involved in just buildings; it is also involved in designing a variety of environments like Gardens, Parks, and Theme Parks, etc. And for each architectural environment, there is a specialist, thus we have Green Architect, Landscape Architect, Museum Architect, Naval Architect, Theatre Architect, etc. The Council of Architecture (COA) is a regulating body concerned with regulating the education and practice of professions throughout India besides maintaining the register of architects.
M.Arch.(Master of Architecture) Course Eligibility
- Aspiring students should have passed a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree from a recognized university board. Candidates appearing for the final exams of B.Arch. can also apply.
- Those eligible need to acquire a minimum of 50% in the entrance examination.
- Some Institutes require an aptitude test and an Interview for admission into the Master’s Degree in Architecture.
