M.Sc. Medical Surgical Nursing or Master of Science in Medical Surgical Nursing is a postgraduate Nursing course. Medical surgical nursing is one of the most difficult specialties of nursing for students to master. This course is designed to assist students in developing expertise and in-depth understanding in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic nursing. It will help students to develop advanced skills for nursing intervention in various cardio medical and surgical conditions. It will enable the student to function as Cardiovascular and Thoracic Nurse practitioner/ specialist. It will further enable the student to function as an educator, manager and research in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic nursing. The program is designed to prepare graduates in scientific inquiry, which includes initiating, validating, and applying research findings to nursing practice and evaluating nursing theory appropriate for advanced practice.
