Wrong UGC NET 2025 answer key costs candidates jobs fellowships

The release of the final answer key for the UGC NET December 2025 examination has triggered allegations of discrepancies in subjects including History Economics Hindi Literature Political Science Physical Education and English Literature. This has left the aspirants distressed prompting them to take legal action against the NTA. Aggrieved candidates claimed that despite raising objections to several questions in the provisional answer key no corrections were made in the final answer key.
A writ petition was filed by Kartikeya a history student at DU in the Delhi HC challenging the incorrect answers in NET history question paper. Mumbai based EdTech firm Testbook filed an impleadment application on behalf of affected students citing nearly 11 incorrect questions in History and few other subjects. Mohd Una id Siddique from Delhi who scored 218 out of 300 in Economics and fell short of the JRF cut off by two marks says Six questions were marked incorrectly in the provisional answer key. In the final answer key only one answer was changed while the remaining five were retained I will not be able to qualify for the JRF which was crucial as a research scholar.
