CBSE launches Veer Gatha project to inform students about the bravery of armed forces

To make school students aware of the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defence proposed that school students should undertake projects based on the valour of armed and paramilitary forces. The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education will start the Veer Gatha Project from October 21 till November 20, 2021. The Project will be launched on the CBSE IT platform for CBSE schools and for state government-run schools on the MyGov platform.

Joseph Emmanuel, director, CBSE (Academics), says, "In the project, teachers will guide students to make projects based on the life of gallantry award winners. A website with information about the project has been shared.

"It will be introduced as a national level competition. The best entries can be uploaded on the CBSE website for a second-level screening. Selec ted entries approved from the CBSE portal and those uploaded on the 'My Gov portal' will be combined and final so lection will be done. Teachers should tell students about gallantry award winners."

Emmanuel further says that there is a proposal that designated officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force will interact with students and tell them about the contributions of gallantry award winners.

Online and offline programmes will promote awareness about gallantry award winners, adds Emanuel.
