With the corporate companies expanding their digital foot print, it is becoming imperative for managers to not only understand technology well but also be able to efficiently market it. To that end, New IIMs have been introducing courses in latest technology or adding topics such as Blockchain, Cloud Technology and Security and Al in their course curriculum. The Post Graduate Program in Digital Governance and Management (PGP-DGM), degree was launched by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam in 2019. It was launched under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India (GOI). The course includes Digital, Data Ana lytics and Projects, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Technology & Security, and The Internet of Things (IoT). In Term 2 of the course, participants begin their project activities in Analytics and Technology. IIM Udaipur is offering one year MBA in Digital Enterprise Management (DEM). The programme enables Management graduates to develop managerial skills relevant to the digital era. IIM Trichy's two year flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) includes topics such as Artificial Intelligence For Managers, E-Business And E-Commerce and Informa tion Technology Consulting. "Future of business in dustry is largely dependent on how we can manage technology and leverage technological innovations. If we look at the global market today, the top companies listed, and the economic drivers of the business are all in the tech industry or are driven by technology innovations. Thus, business technology knowledge including skills like Blockchain, Python, Data Analysis has become integral to the MBA curriculum. The businesses will be increasingly innova tion and technology-driven. Hence, courses like Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, HR Analytics, Strategic siness Intelligence, Datation. Du Modelling, and Visual Analysis will have a wider scope for learning in business management," says a spokesperson from IIM Rohtak.
"Subjects such as Blockchain and Data Analytics are increasingly driving the new paradigms of business. With digital proliferation, the quantum and quality of data available have increased. The analysis of this data can lead to effective business decision-making. Therefore, management graduates must learn these courses to run businesses in various verticals of Supply Chain Management, Finance Management, and Data Security, etc," says Janat Shah, director, IIM Udaipur.
