About Government Dental College and Hospital
The Dental wing was just a Dental OPD of the SMS/Hospital. The seats were then gradually increased to the present number of 50 admissions. A new building was constructed for the Dental College in the premises of the TB Hospital, Subhash Nagar. The Dental Wing was shifted to this building on 22nd Aug. 2001 with meager equipment, staff & resources. However the State Govt. sanctioned separate budget & granted DDO powers due to which the college made fast progress & is now a full-fledged postgraduate Dental institute.
The Postgraduate courses were started in this institution in 4 specialties (with 2 admissions in each) in the year 2006.
