About KL Polytechnic

K.L. Polytechnic, Roorkee (Formerly known as Kanhaiyalal Technical Institute) established in 1956 by a well known donor Late Shri Rai Sahab Kanhaiya Lal Ji. Shri Kanhaiya Lal ji was a great social worker and a great donor. Shri Kanahiya Lal ji has established a School (K.L.D.A.V. Inter College), a P.G. College (K.L.D.A.V. Degree College) and a Tehnical Institute (K.L. Polytechnic) in roorkee.He was born on Sri Krishna Janmastmi, so named Kanhaiya by his parents.Kanhaiya Lal Polytechnic was established 56 years ago , on 25th January, 1956 by the endless efforts of Shri Rai Sahab Kanhaiya Lal Ji. At the time of establishment, its name was Kanhaiya Lal Technical Institute (KTI) and only one course, Diploma in Civil Engineering was started. In 1963, it was upgraded as Kanhaiya Lal Polytechnic and two other courses, Three Years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering & Diploma in Electrical Engineering were introduced.
