About Yadavindra College of Engineering

Guru Kashi campus of Punjabi University is located at Talwandi Sabo, a sacred place for Sikhs in particular and people of all faiths in general. The fourth Takhat of Sikhs is located at Talwandi Sabo and is known as Damdama Sahib. The Tenth Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Gobind Singh Jee after sacrificing his entire family in the battles against oppression of tyrants, stayed at Damdama Sahib and got compiled the sacred book of Shri Guru Granth Sahib through Bhai Mani Singh. This land was blessed by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Jee as 'Hamari Kashi' a centre of higher learning. Punjabi University for this noble cause setup its campus in 1988 and named it as Guru Kashi Campus for transforming the professional education scene in the heart of Malwa region.

The campus is situated on the Rama road in Talwandi Sabo. It is spread across 85 acres, and is away from the din and noise of the markets and roads. It has unique distinction of professional education in the management and engineering areas in an otherwise backward rural region. The University School of Business Studies was created in 1988 to fill a vital gap in management education. The establishment of Yadavindra College of Engineering at this Campus is providing a catalyst for the overall development of this region. The YCoE institute is totally based on the new and unique idea where the students from rural areas are being provided free education through scholarships. It is being developed as a centre of excellence in high technology and engineering education.
