About Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology

Central Institute of Plastics engineering and technology, established in 1968 which also provides academic, technology support and research for polymer and allied industries aims at ensuring quality and hence has established a well-equipped laboratory for testing purposes. The lab is located in Amritsar, Punjab. The lab conducts chemical testing on materials like UPVC Pipe for potable Water Supplies, UPVC Screen and Casing Pipes For Bore / Tube Well, Injection Molded PVC Fittings, HDPE Pipes etc., which undergo tests like Reversion Test, Overall Migration, Melt Flow Index, Carbon Black Content and many more. The lab conducts mechanical testing on materials like UPVC Screen and Casing Pipes for Bore / Tube Well, Injection Molded PVC Fittings, HDPE Pipes which undergo tests like Visual appearance, Hydraulic Characteristics, Density, Tensile Strength, Impact Strength and many more. The lab also conducts electrical testing on Rigid Plain Conduits of Insulating Materials which undergo tests like Insulation Resistance and Electrical Strength.
