About Government Narmada PG College

    government narmada p. g. college, hoshangabad, madhya pradesh was established in 1954 and has been declared as an institute for excellence in 2002 by the state government.

· since 2008-9 semester system has been introduced in all programmes of ug/pg by the mp state government and barkatullah university, with which the college has been affiliated

·  the lecture method of teaching is the general method of teaching. however, computer training, projects, internship and cces are compulsory. the teaching is supplemented with power point presentation, lcd slides, ohp, computer-assisted learning, seminars, projects, group task etc.

·  the concerned departments use modern teaching aids through computer viz. powerpoint presentation, lcd presentation, ict, audio-visuals multimedia etc. there is also a network resource centre (nrc) in the college, where the students can use net facility.

·  in semester system, there is a provision of cce, project and internship to make the education system more job-oriented and qualitative. in cce, students are evaluated twice in each semester by various methods. 30% marks are assigned for internal examination and tests. students are evaluated through tests, report writing, seminars, power point presentations etc.

·  ict is now being increasingly used for innovation in teaching.

·  the college has 3 units of nss, including one girl unit and two wings of ncc viz. army wing and navy wing. the college also has a youth red cross unit, which organizes blood donation and health checkup programmes in the college.

·  all indoor and outdoor sports are fully available. a sports complex at the cost of rs. 90 lakh is newly constructed.

·  there is a moot court in law for the purpose of practical training.

·  narmada college is the only college of mp, where short firing range and obstacle training practice is available to ncc cadets.
