About Gargi College

Gargi College, established in 1967, is in affiliation with the University of Delhi. It is one of the leading colleges for women located in the South Campus of Delhi University at Siri Fort Road (New Delhi). Ranked 9 for Arts, 12 for Science and 14 for Commerce (recently) by India Today 2021, the college was also ranked 16 in 2020 by NIRF under the Colleges category. The NAAC has also accredited this college with an A Grade and a CGPA of 3.30. In addition to this, the Department of Biotechnology under the Government of India has also honoured Gargi College with A Star College status.

Gargi College currently offers over 20 courses across Arts, Science, Commerce and Education streams. These courses are available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and enrol about 4,000 students every year. For Gargi College admission 2021, the University will consider UG admission based on the merit of Class 12 this year, as declared by DU's VC. However, there are still multiple speculations about changes in the admission process. DU UG registrations 2021 will begin on July 26 and August 2 for PG and PG courses, respectively.

Gargi College has a Bioinformatics lab and research facility, dedicated laboratories, ICT-enabled classrooms, a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, an auditorium, a seminar hall, and a digital library. Besides, it has a vast sports field and provides sports facilities and extra-curricular activities. The college also has numerous cultural and non-cultural societies for the overall development of students. There is also a research facility which is available here and students are encouraged for the same even at the undergraduate level. However, this college does not have a hostel facility. Apart from all the infrastructural support, the college also has a faculty count of approximately 200 professors who hold doctorate degrees.
