About Indian Institute of Management - IIM Raipur

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur is the Tenth Indian Institute of Management (IIM). It was inaugurated on October 11, 2010. As of 2011, IIM Raipur is operating from the Government Engineering College Campus, Sejbahar, Raipur. The Government of Chhattisgarh has identified 200 acres of land for the proposed IIM Raipur campus in Naya Raipur. IIM Raipur has introduced compulsory course on Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility in Post-Graduate Programme in Management to ensure that students get sound grounding of the subject. This is followed by real-life projects to acquire hands on-experience. It also offers Executive Fellow Programme in Management Executive Education Programme (EFPM), offered at the senior and middle management level participants. IIM Raipur also offers management development programmes and in-company programmes.

IIM Raipur Location - IIM Raipur is located in the capital of Chhattisgarh.

Transportation - Raipur is well connected from all parts of the country by a network of rail, road and air.

By Air: Different airlines operate flights between Raipur and other cities. There are flights between Raipur and Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Vishakhapatnam.

By Road: Raipur is connected by National and State highways. Raipur is connected by National Highway 6 (NH6) (connecting Mumbai-Calcutta) and by NH47 (connecting Visakapatnam).

Facilities

Hostel – IIM Raipur has fully furnished separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostels are wi-fi enabled.

Library - The library at IIM Raipur subscribes to a number of periodicals, news papers and journals. IIM Raipur is member of Developing Library Network (DELNET) and Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences & Technology (INDEST).  Its collection includes books & e-books, e-journals, magazines & newspapers, harvard case studies, online databases.

IT Infrastructure - The Institute provides a 16 Mbps dedicated internet connection. The building is fully wifi- enabled.

Class Room - The classrooms at IIM Raipur enhance the learning experience. The seats are arranged in semi-circular manner to facilitate more interaction among the participants.

Educational Loan - Educational loan is made available for students from Union Bank of India and Central Bank of India without any mortgage or collateral.

ATM – There is a Union Bank ATM in campus

Post Office - Post Office extension planned within campus

Sports Facilities – These include facilities for both outdoor and indoor games like volleyball, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, carom, chess etc.

Fitness Centre – The centre is equipped with motorized tread mill, station multi gym, cable cross over etc

Centres of Excellence - IIM Raipur is planning to establish centres of excellence in the fields of Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management.

Summer Internship Programme - Summer Internship Programme broadens the intellect and understanding of students by providing an exposure to real life organizational and social situations. This programme commences after the first year of study and it is an effective in enabling students to relate management theory with practice. It enables them to effectively put into use what they learn. Organizations benefit from the objective and unbiased perspective the students provide based on the concepts and skills imbibed in the first year at the institute. On the other hand, the work carried out by the students helps them to consolidate their concepts on the different facets of management. The summer interns also act as ambassadors of the organization and help in brand broadcasting on campus.

Social Service - Students of IIM Raipur have started a Social Service Group called ‘KARTAVYA’.

Consulting - IIM Raipur offers consulting services to design and implement policies, systems and processes in functional and cross-functional areas of business.

Area of consultancy services:

• Project Feasibility studies and appraisal
• Developing strategy for financial restructuring
• Performance measurement and evaluation of public and corporate sectors
• Designing project planning, monitoring and control systems

Clubs – These include finance club, marketing club, operations club, quizzing club, consulting and entrepreneurship club etc.
