About Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and Technology 

Started with just one institute, Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) in 2004, SIET has now transformed into a group of institutions known as Shambhunath Group of Institutions, under the aegis of which a number of institutes are flourishing.

• Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, (formerly known as UPTU) Lucknow, Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET; Code-162) started with just four disciplines i.e. Electronics and Communication (EC), Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE) & Information Technology (IT) with an intake of 60 students per discipline in the year 2004. The success of SIET has continued nonstop with a new chapter being added nearly every year.
• In the year 2006, Shambhunath Institute of Pharmacy (SIP; Code-241) affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, was established. Another highlight of the year was addition of a fifth discipline viz. Mechanical Engineering in SIET.
• 2007 saw addition of Management course of MBA which started with an intake of 60 students. The intake of CS and EC was increased by 120 in each branch in the same year.
• The first batch of Engineering students passed out in 2008 and of MBA in 2009.
• 2010 added a few more feathers in the cap of Shambhunath Group of Institutions. Shambhunath Institute of Management with an intake of 120 students (SIM; Code-727), affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, was started for Management courses. The same year saw approval of SIET for evening shift for EC and CS with an intake of 60 students in each. Approval for evening shift with an intake of 60 students in each of EE and M.E. was accorded to SIET in 2011.
• In the year 2012, SGI got approval for its ITI college i.e. Shambhunath Industrial Training Institute (SITI; Code-2200). In the same year, another discipline of Engineering - Civil Engineering was started with an intake of 120 students. Another Highlight of the year was starting M. Tech. courses with VLSI Design (EC) & Production Engineering (ME) with an intake of 24 students in each and M. Pharm. courses with Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology with an intake of 15 students in each. SIET got approval to increase the intake of ME from 120 to 180 and one more branch of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EN) was introduced in the year 2013 with an intake of 60 students.
• In the year 2015, the institute for Elementary Education (D.El.Ed., formerly known as BTC), Shambhunath College of Education (SCE) started functioning.
• We got approval to start 5-year BA-LLB Programme with our institution, Shambhunath Institute of Law, in 2016.
• With 2020, we are starting courses in BBA and BCA as well.

The Strength of the students at present is around 3200. The Engineers and Managers produced by this college have been placed at good positions in the Corporate & Government sector. Shambhunath Group of Institutions is determined to be a university in near future.
