The A.M.I.T is housed in a sprawling green area of 132 acres of land, 15kms west from Bounsi, Banka District. Bounsi is well connected to Bhagalpur, Jasidih, Deoghar and Dumka by Bus. The nearest Railway Station is Mandar Hill (Bounsi) Station. The railway line from Bhagalpur-Bounsi is already planned to connect Rampurhat, which is linked with Howrah and Guwahati. The nearby airports are at Ranchi, Gaya, Patna and Kolkata.

Bhagalpur, the silk city is 50 kilometers away from the institute. It takes about 30 minutes by road to reach NTPC, Kahalgaon from Bhagalpur.

Banka is very close to the sources of raw materials needed for heavy industries. Its proximity to Jharkhand (bordering Deoghar, Dumka and Godda) and Non-perennial River like Chandan makes it a very strong contender for coal - based power plant investment and other heavy industry. Jas Infrastructure Capital (a company of Abhijeet Group) is setting up 2640 MW (4×660MW) coal-based power unit at Bounsi Block. This project spreads over 1,573 acres of land and will be implemented in two phases, phase-I with 2× 660 MW capacity.

Bounsi is famous for the Mandar Hill, having its mention in Indian scriptures for the significant role played in Samudra Manthan. A Jain temple at the summit in close proximity to the Vishnu temple is a sign of religious harmony. Mandar Mahotsav, Bounsi Mela, Makar Sankranti and Rath Yatra of Lord Madhusudan alike to the world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Puri, Odisha celebrated here every year as a symbol of cultural integrity.
