About Softvision College

Indore is the most populous and the largest city in Madhya Pradesh. It is considered as an education hub of the state and has the unique distinction of being the only city in the country which has the campuses of both the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).  Located on the southern edge of Malwa Plateau, at an average altitude of 550 meters (1,800 ft) above sea level, it has the highest elevation among all major cities of Central India. This elevation has resulted in the city enjoying salubrious climate throughout the year, except in the summer months of April, May and June. The city is 190 km (120 miles) West of the state capital of Bhopal.

Indore traces its roots to 16th Century, when it existed as a trading hub between the Deccan and Delhi. The city and its surroundings came under Hindu Maratha Empire on 18 May 1724 after Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I assumed the full control of Malwa region. During the days of the British Raj, Indore State was a 19 Gun Salute (21 locally) princely state (a rare high rank) ruled by the Maratha Holkar Dynasty, until they acceded to the Union of India.  Indore also served as the capital of the Madhya Bharat from 1950 until 1956.

Indore has been selected as one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a “Smart City” under the Smart Cities Mission.  Indore has been part of Swachh Bharat Survekshan since its inception and was ranked 25th during the first sarvekshan in 2016. Thereafter, the combined commitment and dedication of the people of Indore and Indore Municipal Corporation raised it to Number 1 position during the next sarvekshan in 2017. It has thereafter retained its rank as India’s cleanest city in 20182019 and 2020 also.
