Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics is a Government run autonomous Super Speciality Hospital and Research Institute situated in the beautiful campus in the heart of the city of Bangalore. This is one of the well established Trauma and Orthopaedics centre started by Government of Karnataka in the year 1984 to cater to the poor and needy. It is one of the few Hospitals in the city of Bangalore under the Government sector which is routinely doing Knee and Hip replacement surgeries at affordable costs as well as other routine surgeries in Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Facio Maxillary surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urosurgery and others surgeries. Free flaps (Micro Vascular Surgery) are conducted in the department of Plastic Surgery for various Trauma Care as well as other cases. It has a team of well experienced Doctors with all specialities to give a comprehensive treatment for Trauma in association with good Laboratory facilities and Radiology Department. We have started a State of the Art Sports Injury Centre and Spinal Injury Centre in our Institute which is one of its kind in the Government sector. We are making our Hospital e-Hospital so that paperless transactions can take place. We are also planning to start e-Mobile services. It is with great pleasure that we are able to get MCI recognition for MS Ortho seat to this Institute. Our aim is to make Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics (SGITO) a super speciality Hospital a one stop centre which gives comprehensive care to trauma and Orthopaedic patients.
