About Course
Course Description
B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering commonly known as B.Tech BME, it is an undergraduate full-time course of 4 years duration. Biomedical Engineering is a specialization of engineering in which engineering principles and techniques are applied to biology and medicine for advancement in healthcare treatment. It is a vast field and will provide a greater chance of learning. The uses of biomedical engineering in the development of various diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, imaging equipment such as MRIs, EKGs, etc.
The course follows a semester system with a total of 8 semesters. Each year is divided into 2 semesters. The course duration for lateral entry students will be 3 years. The average costs of the course range between 4 to 10 lacs depending upon the college from where you want to pursue the course.
Job Prospects:
There is a huge demand for qualified and skilled professionals having technical knowledge in this field. Biomedical engineers can work in sectors of science and research development services, pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare centers and hospitals, medical equipment manufacturing companies, etc. There are immense options for freshers. For the experienced one, the horizon gets broader.Various government organizations also offer jobs to biomedical engineers.
