Master of Science in Genetics Course Details

M.Sc. Genetics or Master of Science in Genetics is a postgraduate Genetics course.  Genetics covers the discipline of biology, the science of genes, heredity, and variation in living organisms. Genetics deal with the molecular structure and function of genes, with gene behaviour in the context of a cell or organism (e.g. dominance and epigenetics), with patterns of inheritance from parent to offspring, and with gene distribution, variation and change in populations. The duration of M.Sc. in Genetics is mostly two academic years but it varies from institute to institute. The University of Delhi is providing for two years on a full-time basis. Minimum time to complete the course is two years. The syllabus for the course is divided into four semesters.

• Aspiring candidates should have completed B.Sc. under any registered university in respective subjects like Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Life Sciences and Biomedical Sciences in Science stream.
