M.Com. Banking & Insurance Management or Bachelor of Commerce in Banking & Insurance Management is a postgraduate Banking course. Banking and Insurance Management covers the study of the concepts of Banking, Accounting, Banking Law, Insurance Law, and Insurance Risk & Insurance Regulations, etc. In other words, M.Com. (Banking & Insurance Management) is a degree program in which, apart from a general course study in Commerce, the primary focus is on the systematic study of the concepts in the specialized subjects and topics related to Banking & Insurance industry. - Aspiring students should have passed a bachelor's degree in the Commerce stream.
- However, as an alternative criterion, many universities accept graduation degrees with Honours in Accountancy, Economics, or Business/Management Studies for admission to their M.Com. (Banking & Insurance Management) degree course.
- Some of the very reputed universities and institutes demand a minimum of 45-50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course and some also conduct entrance examination to get admission to their M.Com. (Banking & Insurance Management) degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of graduation and the entrance exam.
