Ph.D. Pharmacology or Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology is a Doctorate Pharmacy course. Pharmacology is a science that examines the effects of the drug on the body, looking at such issues as how the drug works, its safety, whether it affects one organ or area of the body more than another, and what common adverse experiences (AEs) are associated with its use. It is subjective in nature and undertakes the research work in depth. The candidates must submit “thesis” after the completion of their research work. Pharmacology states it is the branch of medicine and biology concerned with the study of drug action.
Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology Eligibility
- A Master’s degree is required to gain admission to a doctoral program. In some subjects, doing a master’s in philosophy (M.Phil.) is a prerequisite to start Ph.D.
- Candidates with masters or equivalent degree in any of the branches of science (Chemistry, Life Sciences, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Physiology or in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering), who are qualified to receive Junior Research Fellowship after passing CSIR/UGC NET, DBT JRF Examination (a category) are eligible to be interviewed.
