M.P.T. Ortho-Physiotherapy or Master of Physiotherapy in Ortho-Physiotherapy is a postgraduate Orthopaedics course. Orthopaedic physical therapy includes treatment of the musculoskeletal system (which is made up of the muscles and bones of the body) that has been subject to injury or trauma. This includes sprains, strains, post fracture, post-surgery and repetitive injuries. The areas of the body include the neck and back as well the extremities. Orthopaedic surgeons use means of both, surgery and non-surgery to treat and cure musculoskeletal problems, injuries to sportspersons, degenerative diseases, infections, and tumours and congenital disorders. All the matters of muscles and bones in the human body are dealt with by orthopaedic surgeons or specialists. The course is beneficial in many areas like education and outside it.
