M. Tech- Nanotechnology Course Detail
M. Tech- Nanotechnologyis known as Master of Technology in Nanotechnology, which is a postgraduate degree program. Nanotechnology is the Engineering of tiny machines, using techniques and tools to make complete and highly advanced products. It enables the control of matter at the nanometer scale, using mechanochemistry. It mainly focuses on the technologies that involve in the miniaturization of electronic and optical devices. Under this course, students will learn about the creation of smaller, cheaper, lighter and faster devices that can do more and clever things by the use of fewer raw materials and it consumes less energy. Further, they will know regarding the current micro technologies which include design and fabrication of microelectronic circuits, Microsystems, and optoelectronics.
In addition, students who hold B.E or B. Tech degree can apply for this Master program. Once they will gain this degree, they can find many career opportunities in Health Industry, Environment Industry, Bio-Technology, Product Development and Advising, R&D in Government, Space Research etc.
M. Tech- Nanotechnology Job Description
Nanotechnology Jobs are available research and development (R& D) in various sectors. Nanotechnology is being used in designing medical diagnostic devices to building better batteries, from creating cosmetics to enhancing energy efficient windows, from auto and plane manufacturing to researching the nature of matter itself. Major employers in India are CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research); it has set up 38 laboratories to carry out research and development work in Nanotechnology. Other firms includeCranes Software International Limited, Bangalore; Monad Nanotech Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai; Velbionanotech, Bangalore; Qtech Nanosystems (P) Ltd, Bangalore; Innovations Unified Technology, Mumbai etc. There is considerable demand for all levels of professionals whether they have bachelors, masters or doctorate qualifications. One can also go for nanotechnology careers on foreign shores, there is lot of opportunities in U.S. for Indian Engineers and Scientists. As per National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (US)- Nanotechnology job projections are estimated to be nearly two million workers worldwide by 2015. Minatec, Meticulum, Johnson & Johnson are few of the employers abroad.
