M.Sc. Industrial Microbiology or Master of Science in Industrial Microbiology is a postgraduate Microbiology course. The Master degree course teaches the student to develop the technologies to control and manipulate the growth and activities of selected biological agents to create desirable products and economic gain or to prevent economic loss. In addition to bacteria and yeasts, animal and plant cell cultures are now used to produce sophisticated products such as monoclonal antibodies, immune-modulating compounds, and complex plant metabolites. Industrial microbiology involves the utilization of microorganisms in the production of a wide range of products, including enzymes, foods, beverages, chemical feed stocks, fuels and pharmaceuticals, and clean technologies employed for waste treatment and pollution control. The duration of the course is two years and it is career orienting in nature that opens a lot of job scopes for them after its successful completion.

• Bachelors Degree in Science (B.Sc. Botany/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry) with minimum 55% marks. or B.Sc. degree of any University in Kerala with Polymer Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Petro Chemicals/Environment & Water Management as the main subject and Mathematics and Physics/Computer Science, as subsidiaries with 55% marks in the main subject.
