DUs special cut-off to provide admission cushion to students
Delhi University (DU) released a special cut-off list for students who could not take admission in any of the previously declared cut-off lists. Balram Pani, dean of colleges, DU, says, Sometimes candidates hope to get admission to the college of their choice in the successive cut-off lists, but they fail. For instance, if a candidate plans to pursue Physics Honors, but despite requisite marks, does not secure admission in the hope to get a better college. In the process, he/she may miss the bus. Pani adds that most applicants prefer campus colleges due to which seats remain vacant in off-campus colleges. Rajeev Gupta, chairman, Admissions, DU, says, There there are cases where candidates could not complete the admission process despite being eligible. So through special cut-offs, they would get another chance of admission.
